Steven Spielberg re-releasing Harvey

Steven Spielberg will be re-releasing the classic film titled Harvey in new packaging that is more fresh. The film’s adaptation of Mary Chase’s novel tells of Elwood P. Dowd, an eccentric man who claimed to have a rabbit friend invisible six-foot-named Harvey. Elwood then thought to have mental disorders because it is constantly trying to introduce Harvey to everyone he met.

As reported by AP, the film collaboration of two major studios DreamWorks Studios and 20th Century Fox will begin production stage next year. Fox’s spokesman said Harvey may be out at the end of 2010.

Harvey is a 1950 film, starring James Stewart and Josephine Hull. Film director Henry Koster’s claim was successful was ranked 35 on AFI’s 100 Years … 100 Laughs, and was named one of ten best classic American films in 2008.
